🇦🇲 Goshavank Monastery

We asked father Tadeusz if we were allowed to camp on the grass behind the Goshavank. He said no.

He said it was too cold & he insisted we stayed in the home of his friend Gor. Gor and his family made dinner for us and we drank homemade apricot vodka till midnight.

Unforgettable night.

🌏 Traveling with the bikes, not always easy - especially by plane.

We flew with many airlines already and all have different regulations.
• Additional payment 💰
• Size Limits
• Reservations and limited space
• Etc.

Some airlines, like @qatarairways, even have different rules depending on the destination of the flight.

It is no fun at all to come at the check-in desk, with all the additional stress already flying these days, to hear that you have 40kg of access luggage or worst case: that there is no spare for the bikes...

To hopefully help out others, we wrote a blog about the different airlines and their regulations.

🇳🇵 These were our last days in Nepal.

We decided to slowly make our way to Pokhara and keep an eye on the lockdown situation which got more and more strict in Nepal.

After Upper Mustang we slept one night in Tatopani. Unfortunately the sky was not clear, because here the view must be absolutely amazing. There are three mountains around which are 8000m+

The day after we cycled to Baglung and ended up (unplanned) spending 3 nights there. Lovely local town with good food! And apparently big spiders. Who knew?

Oh and those brake pads.. they were Franklin’s. Going down without brakes was not a success 😅

The third morning we woke up and realized that the country would go in strict lockdown & we needed to leave the next day.

We arranged a car from Pokhara to Kathmandu, booked a flight to Dubai & cycled towards Pokhara.

We made it just in time to arrange everything for the flight & left the next day at 18:00 in the evening.

Abrupt ending to a beautiful time in Nepal, but we will go back! We have some unfinished business 😍 🏔

🇳🇵 This was our last day cycling in Upper Mustang.

Our hotel in Chhusang was the best! The owner and the girl working there are so friendly, so we stayed two nights.

We hiked to the traditional town Tetang, which is quite hidden but definitely worth a visit!

And our last kilometers of cycling before we entered the Annapurna region again. Hopefully one day we will be back!

We cycled back from Lo Manthang to Ghami. Not many words needed to describe this day - it was an epic ride with beautiful weather ☀️

We made a stop at Gar Ghompa - the oldest monastery in the world.

In the evening we went to the family home of our guide and slept in a home stay 🏡

[04-04]
A first for Franklin! We went horse riding 🥰

1. Small but super strong horses in Mustang. They are still used for transportation of people and goods. But less and less people ride because the horses are being replaced by motorbikes. During our four our ride we saw so many horses walking around freely in the fields around Lo Mantang 🐴

2. Franklin surprisingly really enjoyed it... so next time a bigger horse and a faster ride! 😁

3. After the ride we went for a run. Which was again not so easy at almost 4000m altitude. Also the weather started changing very quickly, so we ended up with a 10km run only.

4. Guess which one of us is the faster runner 😅

5. Awesome day again! We happy, horse happy! 🐎💕
